Modular kitchen

Modular Kitchen is a term used for the modern kitchen furniture layout consisting of modules of cabinets made of diversified materials which hold accessories inside, which can facilitate the effective usage of the spaces in a kitchen. Normally the units which are kept on the floor are called “floor units” or “floor cabinets” on which a kitchen worktop made of granite, marble, tile or wood has been laid for creating spaces for varied activities in a kitchen.

Modular kitchen normally constitutes wooden cabinets, counter tops, internal accessories, electro eomestic gadgets like chimney, hob, built-in-oven, sink with or without drain board and in some cases a refrigerator, dishwasher or other gadgets.

The designer normally designs the space using modules of standardized/customized sizes to suit individual spaces.

Straight Kitchen

The straight kitchen is one of the most economical kitchen layouts. While L-shaped and galley kitchens prove to be the most popular kitchen styles, space constraints, budgetary constraints or even a more minimalistic aesthetic might push us towards a straight kitchen. It might also prove useful for those who need a secondary kitchen, on the second floor of a house.

U Shape Kitchen

Like the one-wall and galley floor plans, a U-shaped layout is an efficient kitchen designed for one primary cook. The U-shaped kitchen lends itself to high-efficiency cooking: You can often pivot on one toe as you spin around from refrigerator to sink to stove.

A U-shaped kitchen consists of work space on three adjoining walls, two parallel walls perpendicular to a third. There are no traffic lanes flowing through the work area.

L Shape Kitchen

Tiny houses are beautiful and manageable if planned well. Truly, planning is the most important phase for a house built in limited space. And kitchen being the heart of any house, might require a lot more attention and detail. L-shaped kitchens fit well in the tiniest of places and look very contemporary.

An L-shaped kitchen is tucked in a corner with two shelves at right angles to each other; with a hob on one shelf and sink fitted on the other. The general design of the L shaped kitchen easily puts the traditional working triangle in place. Though there are novel alternatives to the working triangle, yet most people still vouch by it. Without a doubt, it makes the movement between sink, hob and fridge easy which makes the cooking efficient.

These kitchens are often a great option for the open plan layout as the two sides of the kitchen are free. If there is space, you can opt for an island which can be used for storage and seating with chairs or ottoman. The open kitchens look bigger and airy. These kitchens make sure that you do not miss out on the fun of the living room while you are cooking.

Parallel Kitchen

Parallel or Galley Kitchen layouts are a relatively newer concept, where two kitchen platforms along with their cabinets run parallel to each other. Compact and yet convenient, these kitchens are a favorite with small apartment dwellers or those who have a space constraint.

Parallel Kitchens are designed based on the house structure, and work seamlessly for homes with a space crunch. They provide a large amount of storage, and make for efficient usage of space, with cabinets that run, both on the top and bottom on either side of the kitchen. These kitchens are perfect for older existing structures, where not much of re-arranging is required or re-modelling can be done.

Island Kitchen

More than ever, modern residential design incorporates entertaining and gathering space within the kitchen area. In order to accommodate family and guests, in addition to the chef, the kitchen island has taken a leading role in kitchen design. An island is also a convenient location in which to tuck some of the amenities expected in the modern home. With steam ovens, speed ovens, warming drawers, and wine refrigerators all competing for prime space in the kitchen, an extra bank of cabinets is valuable real estate.

At the same time, the function of a kitchen island is also a balancing act, and the appliances shouldn’t conflict with seating for guests and serving space for the charcuterie plate. Because the island is able to play a variety of roles in the kitchen, it has become a strategic design piece in our residential projects.

Peninsula Kitchen

In modern kitchen design -- there's usually plenty of room to move around the island, and out into the adjacent space.

And although you might lose a few feet of cabinet storage, the openness and relief you gain by having more than one way out of your kitchen is well worth the effort necessary to get it.

Peninsula Kitchen design layouts are upgraded version of island kitchen where you can feel large space with the kitchen along with inbuilt Studio dinning.
